Ran across this interesting amateur vid by an American tourist visiting Japan.
It's what he thinks is a species of giant leech devouring and equally giant earthworm.

It happens every year since 1928, inspired by Mark Twain's famous short story. See frogumentary.com for background on the Emmy-nominated JUMP documentary about this unusual festival.

Today I am forced to deviate a little from my normal weird video posts, as I have been reading one of our visitor's own "weird" blogs... about her day to day life working in a hospital for the aged... and I just can't stop smiling and chuckling at the quirky stories and the hilarious way Nurse Myra tells them.
(careful, it's a little "blue")*Apologies to Nurse Myra for calling her blog "weird" ;-)

What is most freaky about this video is that it is seriously meant to help Japanese women learn the English words needed if attacked by an English speaking criminal.
And here's a bit more with some other useful phrases :D
But just so nobody can accuse me of suggesting the Japanese are only crazy... here's a very cool "amateur" talent show segment that must have been amazing to see live.

"Mind Illusionist"
Derren Brown uses NLP to convince British actor Simon Pegg, of Shaun of the Dead, that he wants a BMX bike for his birthday.
Doesn't sound too amazing eh? hehe wait till you see how confused and shocked Simon is! :-)
This video includes a second part that explains how Derren did it too. ;-)
