Derren Brown and the BMX Bike

Sunday, July 8, 2007

"Mind Illusionist" Derren Brown uses NLP to convince British actor Simon Pegg, of Shaun of the Dead, that he wants a BMX bike for his birthday.

Doesn't sound too amazing eh? hehe wait till you see how confused and shocked Simon is! :-)

This video includes a second part that explains how Derren did it too. ;-)

ok sign me up now.... so many evil things I could do with this power

  2. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

Yeah me too! And it looks so "easy" as well. :)

Checked your blog NurseMyra... nice, and ya gotta love those casual Fridays ;-)

Did you see the video of Derren convincing a stranger in the street to give him his wallet and keys and cell phone? It's even better I think.

  3. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

no I hadn't. I think I still prefer the bmx one.

who's doing the analysis on the wallet/keys/phone video?

  4. Anonymous Anonymous Says:

Just some joker with a webcam and youtube account.

I think he doesnt do a bad job of explaining basics at least.

It also makes me wonder how far these sort of techniques have slipped into advertising and political campaigner these days.

There is a third one here too... in that one he collects money from from a dog track betting window with losing tickets. The poor woman he 'dupes' gets very confused and probably worried about keeping her job I bet though.
